Sewing machine and clothes iron

Every sewing studio needs a good sewing machine and clothes iron! I personally love my singer heavy duty 4411 sewing machine – it is a rock star. And my PurSteam iron is perfect with it’s anti-drip feature.

Cutting tools

The proper cutting tools and table can cut your fabric cutting time in half!

Fabric cutting scissors are a must have! Gingher sewing scissors are be best (in my opinion) – your hands will thank you! I love my Fiskars thread cutting scissors because the curve helps cut thread close to the fabric.

Interfacing and batting

Pellon and Warm and White are my go to brands for interfacing and batting. I use the 911FF fusible interfacing for all my handbags and accessories and the P44F fusible interfacing and the batting for my memory t-shirt quilts. I use the 830 Easy Pattern for sewing pattern templates when I’m making multiples of one sewing project like my Christmas stocking and full-size apron.

Measuring tools

These are my favorite measuring tools. I love my sewing gauge for strap and magnetic snap placement on handbags.

Key Fob Tools

I sew and sell a ton fabric key fobs! If you love making them too, you’ll need the proper tools! The key fob pliers make adding the hardware sew much easier!

Thread and fabric supplies

Of course every sewing studio needs a supply of thread and fabric!

Optional supplies

In addition to these sewing supplies, there are a couple of optional supplies depending on what you like to sew. I make a ton of memory pillows out of shirts for people who have lost loved ones. The memory patch is a nice message embroidered patch that is attached to the pillow. I use Poly-fil to stuff the pillows.

Below is the hardware I use to make my wristlet purses.
