Welcome!

My name is Joan Begin and sewing is my passion!  I love to sew all sorts of projects!  I started with just an $8 sewing machine I found at a garage sale one day when I was out taking my son for a walk.  It was the best $8 I ever spent!

I started out sewing simple items like valances and pillow covers.  I did that for a few years.  Then one day I decided I wanted to make a handbag just to see if I could do it.  I had no idea what I was doing but I did it and I thought it turned out pretty good for a first try.  I gave it to a friend of mine and she loved it.  Since then I have made so many handbags and all kinds of accessories.  And boy did I make mistakes along the way!  I have now added t-shirt memory quilts and plaid blankets to the mix.

All that being said, the reason I stared this blog was to give beginning sewers instructions on the projects I love sewing.  You can check out my sewing project tutorials here. No need to read a pattern here!  I did research online when I didn’t know how to do something and now I want to pass that information on to you.

My goal is to have this be a one-stop shop place for instruction.  Hope you enjoy and learn something new.  As always, feel free to give feedback and share your finished projects with me!
