Craft Show Booth Display Tips
I try to do at least 2 or 3 craft shows per year to sell my handmade handbags and my knit and crochet items.
I have been doing craft shows for about 8 years now. I’ve learned a lot over the years of what to do and not to do. I am not an expert by any means but experience has helped me learn some helpful craft show booth display tips:

1. Make sure your business name is visible
Display the name of your business. People walking by want to know who you are and what you do / sell. I have only recently realized this. People would ask if my bags were Thirty-one. While I took it as a compliment, I wanted them to know I design and make all of the handbags and accessories in my booth. I now have a framed sign with the name of my business in a picture frame on display on top of a wooden crate.
2. Add height to your display
I have found that adding a few wooden crates to my display really helps items stand out as opposed to having everything displayed on a table. I have also added metal shelves to display my crochet/knitting items and helps keep these items separated from my handbags and accessories. A coat rack and dress form are also good ways to display shoulder bags, sling bags and aprons.
3. How much is this item?
Having items on display without a price tends to make you look unprofessional. I have handmade tags on all my handbags and a framed price list visible for all the items not easily tagged. For instance, I will have my small zipper pouches displayed in a little wire basket. Instead of tagging each one individually, I just have the small zippered pouch on my price list.
4. Engage in conversation
I have found that people are more likely to stop by your booth or buy from you if you engage them in conversation. A simple “How are you today?” is all you need to say to get the conversation started. I’m not saying everyone you talk to will make a purchase, but it makes their experience more enjoyable.
5. Make yourself visible
This goes along with engaging people in conversation – come out from behind your table or set up shop beside your table so you are visible to people as they are walking by.
